We were arriving on Maui Chistmasday so I made reservations well in advance knowing that it would be impossible to get a table at the last minute. I used Open Table to reserve a table for 4 at Merrimans. Just before leaving the hotel at 7 I called to confirm the reservation. I was put on hold and then told that there was a problem with "ventilation" and the restaurant was closing. They weren't evvev apologetic but basically laughed at me. We were obviously the last party and they wanted to go home. Over at Trip Advisor you can read a review from someone who did have dinner on Christmas. No ventilation problem. Don't go to Merrimans, the food and service is likely to be as unreliable as their polivy for honoring reservations.
